Well, my druid is 66 now. I finally grinded all the way to exalted with the sporeggar while at 65. It was a humbling experience. Using the quests [Now that we're still friends...] and [Bring us another shrubery!] I was able to not go completely insane. What was really fun was using Ryno to farm the Underbog up until the first boss, solo. Died a few times, and using a ravager pet hindered some capability, but it was a good test of skill.
But, why did I become exalted with the sporeggar? Simple, I wanted the tabard and a tiny spore bat pet (who really is TINY). I can't remember ever in my experience of anyone who's had that tabard or noncombat pet running around. Also for the record, I named the spore bat Portabella.
So what now? I plan to level Bebopbo up, maybe at 70 work on his herbalism and alchemy skills from scratch, and do some dungeons for a rare mount drop. Mostly I'd like the Swift Zulian Tiger, but I wouldn't mind trying for the skeletal horse from Stratholme.
[Fhwoor Smash!] is a quest that you can only get after getting exalted with the sporeggar, where you escort the friendly bog lord to the naga camp to extract the ark of Ssslith. Of course, on his way back a 65 elite spawns with two other naga, being the mentioned Ssslith. Quite fun, had to bring a few friends to help (quest suggested 3).
Also, early this morning I got a tell to do the [Ring of Blood] quest line. Group was made of 5 people between 65 to 69, so I expected to fail quite a bit. But we actually did really well, getting up to the fifth and last enemy there. After we failed him a few times, we all talked to some friends or people we knew to come and help, which turned out to be two 70 locks, a 65 shaman, and a 67 warrior. After my group of 5 completed it we helped the other four there complete the quest line also. Quite fun, got an awesome feral staff.
-Bogging under the Underbog: A guide for a well geared 70 hunter to solo up until the two bog lords before the first boss-
1) It helps immensely if you're beast mastery spec'd, as the pet will do most of the tanking. I personly am not sure if a survival or marksmanship hunter can do this.
2) Procedure: After the first two underbat patrols, there should be a group of three elementals. A group of these is the hardest thing to solo in this place, especially if you're up against more than one of the caster ones (they're green and pinkish). I suggest aspect of the wild while fighting them. If it's one or less of the caster kind, it's not too difficult.
First, put down your ice trap to freeze one. Then pull the one you want to freeze to you (if it's not the center one slightly closer to you, hit the one to be frozen off to the side and hit concussive shot on the center one directly after). When it's approching the trap, sic your pet on the first one to be killed, and try to take it down as fast as possibable. Let the 3rd one beat on you, unless your pet can handle two. Ravagers have low health, so I had to tank one as Gorgon and me killed the first. Keep the one in the trap trapped until the two active ones are down, then finish the last one. Should come out alive, if a little banged up.
If you find yourself against a group of three, with at least one sporebat, oh happy day! Now we get to use scare beast... so, it should go something like this: Lay trap for the elemental in the group, pull, and sic pet on either other elemental or bat, whatever the group was made up of. Then, lead the 3rd bat far back near the entrance. Then when you think you're far back enough, cast scare beast on him and *immediately* after use wing clip. Wing clip can help keep him back if he decides to go the wrong way, even for a few seconds. If you miss wing clip or don't use it in time before he's out of range, don't worry about it, go help your pet on his target. Trap one should be breaking soon, prepare for that too. By the time fear wears off the 3rd bat, the first one should be almost dead so just tank that 3rd one for a few. Then kill the one that was feared, and finally kill the trapped one.
Now, as the for bog lords, just open up with everything you have, along with aspect of the wild, and any items you have that can improve your or your pet's performance. I personally laid either a snake trap or a fire trap and misdirected him onto my pet while kiting him back some. Now when I did this, I had rapid fire, orc racial, trinket, bestial wrath, and drums of battle going. Almost every fight my pet would die near the end, and I could easily finish what was left of the bog lord. The times my pet didn't die, I pulled threat off of him and tanked the bog lord some.
As you can see, it's difficult, much easier to farm with a duo, one tank and a healer. Or even a three man, as Bebop went with a guildie 70 hunter and guild friend 64 warrior. But with that combination we did the whole instance instead of the first part. Hope this helps you, hehe.
